Mission Challenge

A Mission Challenge is part of each year’s Annual Conference. Each district in the Northern Illinois Conference is asked to collect items that go into Dignity Kits for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center, our United Methodist disaster relief supply center. The Aurora district is collecting two items:

  • Toothpaste, 2.5 oz or larger

  • Adult toothbrushes

These items must be new and can be purchased at Dollar Tree. Please bring these items to church by Sunday, June 2. They will be delivered to the mission truck at annual conference on June 3.

Bishop's Appeal

Each year as part of the Northern Illinois Annual Conference there is a Bishop’s Appeal, a special offering is collected in support of specific mission. Bishop Sally Dyck has announced that this year’s Bishop’s Appeal will go to the Northern Illinois Conference Outdoor & Retreat Ministries, which operates two camps and retreat centers in Dixon, IL and Williams Bay, WI. The money raised will help support two urban summer week-long programs and provide opportunities to children and youth who otherwise may not financially be able to attend camp. Please consider making as offering to the Bishop’s Appeal by Sunday, June 2. The money collected by Bethany of Fox Valley will be presented during a ceremony at the annual conference on June 3.
